Industry vs. Guest Perspective

The industry and fan perspective varies drastically. When someone first gets into the Electronic Dance music scene, they do not pay attention to the small details in the night. Everything begins to change as one gets more into the scene. In the beginning, it is all about just having fun and enjoying the night. Once one begins to be part of the one that makes the fun happen, their perspective begins to change on what makes a night successful. This can range from the music that is being played, to the way that the bar staff presents itself. There is a drastic difference from attending a club night to being the one that makes the club night happen.

Majority of people to go out to have a good time do not pay attention to the details that go into making that night happen. To make sure that attendees have the best night possible requires a lot of work. A clean venue with great service and music is one of the main things that is required for the guest to have a good time. The guest does not think about the things that are required to make the night successful unless something goes wrong to make the night not the best it can be.

When one gets hired into the industry to cater to the guest, their perspective of other venues when they go out changes. They begin to judge every small detail about the establishment and the night. They will look at hour the employees carry themselves and if they provide exceptional service. They will also listen to the DJ and judge them on their style and mixing techniques. When a person is in the industry, it is said that when they go out, they do not have as much fun. This is true. Their experience changes because they know all the things that go into making the night perfect.

Some disagree with this blog post, but in my opinion, this is how I feel when I go to other venues. I work for a successful venue and we put hard work into making sure that every night is the best that it can be. We take pride in the fact that we operate one of the best Electronic Dance Music venues in our area and we take pride in the fact that other venues in the area try to model themselves after us.
