Why DJs Should Buy All of Their Music

In the digital age of today, many people just download their music from the internet instead of going to a record store. With this some have resorted to illegally downloading their music from various sources. As a DJ, you should avoid downloading any music without paying for it. There are many reasons for this. Such as supporting the artist who created the track, making sure that you are playing music that is of good enough quality for a club sound system and ensuring that you have the creative rights to use their music in your DJ sets.

When a producer makes a track, they spend a lot of time on making sure that it is a work of art that they would like to present to the world. When someone illegally downloads the music that they spent a lot of time creating, they do not get anything for their hard work. If you support an artist, paying for their art is the best way to show that you care about what they produce. This is important to anyone that puts time into anything.

Another reason why every DJ should pay for the music that they play out for people is to ensure that the quality of music will sound good a on a legit sound system. When someone illegally downloads their music, they do not know if the quality of the track is what the producer intended. Majority of people would not be able to tell the difference of a small speaker setup such as headphones, but when the music gets played on a sound system that is much larger, the quality of the music becomes quite evident. AS a DJ, playing music that sounds good on the sound system that you are playing on is one of the most important parts of the craft.

One of the last reasons that DJ should pay for all their music is that you receive the rights to use the producers track in a creative way. Without paying for the music, you are not legally allowed to use it in your own artistic creation. To avoid all the legal trouble that you could get yourself into, the best option would be to just go ahead and spend the few dollars on whatever music you would like to use in your sets. These are just some small examples of why you should buy all your music as a DJ and anyone serious about the craft would agree.
